Aachener Schachverein 1856 e. V. is a historic chess club in Aachen, Germany, founded in 1856. The club is open to guests and offers opportunities to play blitz or rapid chess games. It fields eight adult teams and a U20 youth team, participating in various leagues, including the NRW-Ligen and SVM-Ligen. The club organizes internal and open tournaments, such as the ASV-Monatsblitzen and the Offene Aachener Stadtmeisterschaft. Training programs are led by International Masters Hans-Hubert Sonntag and Dr. Christian Seel. Club activities include a free club night on Mondays from 7:30 PM and training sessions for adults and children on Mondays and Wednesdays.
