In the chess museum in Moscow you can find rare and unique chess sets from different countries and historical epochs, world-class paintings depicting chess encounters, numerous posters of chess events, various trophies won and presented by Soviet and Russian players, unique chess books, including those by Ponziani, Philidor, personal items of Mikhail Chigorin, Alexander Alekhine, Mikhail Botvinnik, Tigran Petrosian. A table from the famous Karpov-Kasparov match is also on display.
