L'Echiquier Montacutain

L’Echiquier Montacutain is a vibrant chess club located in Montaigu-Vendée, France, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels. The club meets at Salle de la Tour Carrée, Place Aristide Briand, with youth classes on Mondays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by sessions for teens and adults from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Informal play occurs on Friday evenings, and during school holidays, gatherings are held on Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Bar l’Instant Jeux. The club also offers monthly mini-stages on Saturdays to enhance chess skills and organizes various events, including Blitz tournaments and Rapid Opens. Founded in 2012, L’Echiquier Montacutain continues to foster a strong chess community under the guidance of chess teacher Steven Le Pen.
