Founded in 1873, Lübecker Schachverein von 1873 (Lübeck Chess Club of 1873), commonly known as LSV 1873, is one of the largest chess clubs in Germany, boasting over 210 members, including approximately 60 children and young people. The club is highly active in competitive play, fielding ten adult teams, seven youth teams, and two women’s teams. Its top teams compete in the Oberliga, Jugendbundesliga, and Frauen-Regionalliga. LSV 1873 offers regular training for all skill levels, from beginners to ambitious tournament players, led by experienced trainers. The club organizes numerous internal tournaments and participates in state and national competitions. The main club evening for members and guests is held on Fridays from 7:30 PM. Youth training sessions are conducted on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Fridays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The club is located at Moislinger Allee 108 in Lübeck, Germany.
