Located at the Goan Gymkhana Club on Ngara Road, opposite the National Museum of Kenya, it welcomes players of all levels and backgrounds. The club meets every Saturday, offering opportunities to play against strong local players, participate in internal tournaments, or enjoy watching games over a meal. Known for its friendly atmosphere and excellent Indian cuisine, the club is dedicated to promoting chess in Kenya, with a special focus on nurturing young talent, particularly among girls. The Nairobi Chess Club organizes regular chess lessons, one-day tournaments, and hosts its flagship event, the Nairobi Chess Club Championship. Notable past events include the Capablanca Cup, Peter Le Pelley Cup, and international matches such as the Internet match against Wageningen Chess Club of The Netherlands and “The Battle of Migingo” against top Ugandan players.
