Palamedes im Wandsbeker TSV Concordia e.V., located in Hamburg, Germany, is a distinguished chess club with a rich history. Originally founded as SC Concordia on October 15, 1952, by Horst Kibat, the club merged with the renowned “Palamedes” chess club and is now known as “Schachabteilung Palamedes.” The club achieved significant success by winning the German Team Chess Championship in 1970, marking the last victory by a purely amateur team. Over the years, the club has participated in various leagues, including the 2. Bundesliga – Gruppe Nord. Chess enthusiasts can join the club’s activities on Thursdays from 7 PM at Clubheim am Bekkamp 25 – 27, 22045 Hamburg. Guests and chess players are always welcome.
