This is the setting for the final scene of the Netflix series Queen’s Gambit. Beth Harmon walks through the streets of Moscow. The scene was shot in Berlin on Karl-Marx-Allee in the “Rosengarten” (Rose Garden) in the Friedrichshain district. The park was created in the early 1950s. On June 16, 1953, a construction workers’ protest began here, which eventually led to a nationwide uprising with strikes, demonstrations and protests throughout the GDR (Eastern Germany – German Democratic Republic). Note: There is nothing left of the Netflix film set, you can’t find chess players there or the like. It is just the original location of the final “Queen’s Gambit” scene in Moscow.
