SC 1949 Rohrbach-Boxberg is a prominent chess club located in Heidelberg, Germany, founded in 1949. Known as “der sympathische Schachclub in Heidelberg,” the club offers regular chess training sessions with Candidate Master Manfred Herbold. Youth chess training is held on Fridays at 6:00 PM, except during school holidays, while adult sessions run from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The club’s 1st team recently achieved promotion to the Bereichsliga after securing 2nd place in the Bezirksligasaison 2024/25. The club also hosts an annual traditional Christmas Blitz Tournament.
