Founded in 2007, Schach-Pinguine Sulzbach is a vibrant chess club located at the historic Schloss Lautereck in Sulzbach an der Murr, Germany. The club is dedicated to promoting chess, particularly among young players, and boasts approximately 40 members. It fields four teams in league competitions and offers a variety of activities, including youth training on Mondays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and open game nights on Fridays from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Performance training sessions are also held on Fridays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The club hosts internal tournaments, “Schach-Sonntage” with coffee and cake, and participates in community events. Led by Carl Obermeier, with support from Daniel KΓΆlbel and Alexander Collin, the club fosters a welcoming environment for chess enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
