Schachklub München Südost e.V. is a prominent chess club located in Neubiberg, Germany, with a strong focus on youth development. The club has approximately 150 members, with over 100 being children and youth. It has produced several Bavarian and German champions, and its U16 youth team has won the German team championship title. The 1st team, featuring Grandmasters Marcelin, Kosic, Kostic, and FIDE Masters Thomas Höfelsauer, Benedikt Huber, Petro Lohvinov, and Robert Vogel, played in the Bavarian Oberliga for the 2024/2025 season, finishing in 6th place. Notable achievements include Leonardo Costa becoming a Grandmaster at 17 and Alex Grillmeier winning the German Rapid Chess Champion Group D in 2023. The club offers chess training and hosts a “General Game Evening” open to all. Founded in 1939, it celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2014.
