Schachverein Wersten 1964 e.V. is a well-established chess club located in the south of Düsseldorf, Germany. Founded in 1964, the club offers a vibrant community for chess enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Regular club activities are held every Thursday at the Caritas zentrum plus Wersten, Liebfrauenstr. 30, 40591 Düsseldorf. The schedule includes children’s and youth training starting at 6:00 PM, followed by beginner training. From 7:30 PM onwards, the club hosts a general game night with free play, adult training, and game analyses. The club also organizes competitions, tournaments, and workshops with International Masters. A monthly blitz tournament and events like the “Schachturnier für Alle” are highlights. Supported by Schach Niggemann and collaborating with Tecklenburger Schachschule, the club fosters a strong chess community. Beginners are especially encouraged to join, and no advance registration is required.
