SF Schwerin, officially known as Schachfreunde Schwerin, is a prominent chess club located in Schwerin, the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Established in 1949, the club boasts a rich history of over 70 years and a membership exceeding 110 individuals. SF Schwerin fields seven adult teams competing in leagues ranging from the Oberliga to the Bezirksklasse West, alongside three youth teams participating in the SchΓΌlerliga (U12) and Jugendliga (U16). The club’s average DWZ rating is 1593, reflecting its competitive strength. Training sessions are held at two main venues: the clubhouse at LΓΌbecker Str. 57 and an additional playing location at Eckdrift 43-45. Training times are scheduled as follows: Advanced players meet on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, adults from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM; beginners on Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, young adults from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and girls on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
