SK Solothurn is a distinguished chess club located in Solothurn, Switzerland, with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1923. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023, the club has been a cornerstone of the local chess community, hosting significant events such as the 100-year jubilee tournament. The club’s premises have been established for a decade, providing a venue for members to engage in chess activities. SK Solothurn boasts a robust youth program with 50 young players actively participating in the Swiss Youth Team Championship. The club is inclusive, with 15% of its active members being girls and women. The first team competes in the Nationalliga B, supported by high-level training from Grandmaster Sergey Owsejeweitsch.
