SK Verden, officially known as Schachklub Verden, is the oldest and most traditional chess club in Verden (Aller), Germany, founded in 1977. Located at Piepenbrink 1 (Scharfrichterhaus), the club offers a comprehensive training schedule every Friday, excluding school holidays. The training sessions include Kindertraining for children under 13 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Jugendtraining for youth under 20 focusing on advanced concepts from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Offenes Training open to all club members and interested individuals from 7:40 PM onwards. The club is led by Chairman Dr. Hartmut Kuipers and Youth Officer Miriam Leder. SK Verden fields two teams, SK Verden 1 and SK Verden 2, competing in the Verbandsliga Nord and Bezirksklasse West, respectively. The club is accessible to all chess enthusiasts, from beginners to experienced players, and offers activities such as solving chess tasks and playing rapid chess.
