Thionville Echecs

Thionville Echecs is a distinguished chess club located in Thionville, France, at 3 Rue du Cygne, 57100 Thionville. Established in 1952, the club has a rich history, including participation in the French Championship, National 2, during the 1992-1993 season, and winning the Coupe de Moselle in 1990. The club offers a variety of sessions, including free play and training on Fridays from 8:30 PM and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, youth sessions on Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and talent pool sessions on Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Thionville Echecs also hosts an annual international rapid chess tournament on the 1st Sunday of May, participates in the Téléthon event, and organizes the Challenge Blitz and Open de Thionville annually. The club’s team 1 currently competes in Nationale 3. Key personnel include President François Ortega and Vice-President Simon Roby.
