L’Ouverture Lauragaise, located in Vallesvilles, France, is a distinguished chess club founded in 1997. Situated in the rural commune of Sainte-Foy d’Aigrefeuille near Toulouse, the club is named after the founders’ preferred opening, “L’Ouverture Lauragaise,” later identified as the Scandinavian Defense. Affiliated with the French Chess Federation, the club organizes an annual FIDE-rated rapid tournament and actively participates in FFE competitions. It offers training for young players and hosts events for all skill levels and ages. The club is open every other Friday evening for adult play and every Saturday morning for lessons, located behind the village hall.
